The name pretty much says it all everyone as we have been busy...busy...and more busy over the past few weeks! We have been shooting everything from soccer to portraits to birds and some things in between ... even managing to shoot a few things that did not entail work if you can believe it!
Hopefully you have all been following our ThoseTwoPhotographers podcast on iTunes to get your bi-weekly dose of photo news, tips and tricks. Speaking of bi-weekly podcasting unfortunately due to circumstances beyond Rob's control which would be myself leaving on vacation we will not be posting another podcast over the next few weeks but will be back on track upon my return...that is if I return
(If she returns - I'm saying nothing here - In Devo's absence I may find a way to do some quick little podcast updates via some old school technology. You see in addition to Devona buggering off again, our new audio mixer is on back-order. The one we had been using needed to be returned to its rightful owner. Hopefully we will have it sometime in the next three weeks. - RW)
Our photo workshops are now sold out until mid August so if you are looking to sign up please contact us as soon as you are able as they sell out very quickly. We have also been teaching classes on the road having just completed Estevan and Weyburn with Yorkton on the schedule this week. Upon my return we are spending the latter part of June back in Yorkton and then on to North Battleford, Prince Albert and Saskatoon...yep... busy
Once again enough with the rambling and onto the reason that at least half of you are here to look at pictures! Notice that the assumption was made that at least half of you are here to actually listen to me ramble on??

One of our good friends whom I refer to as "The bird and all things wildlife whisperer"...or "Jim" for short took me out one morning to shoot Sharp Tailed Grouse on the dancing ground. This was an absolutely fantastic experience that I would highly recommend. It was so enjoyable that I almost didn't mind the fact that I had to wake up at 2 AM!

ISO - 320, F 6.3, Shutter Speed - 1/500th sec, Focal Length - 200mm

My other good friend whom I refer to as "The guy who always complains that he is so busy that he never has a moment to himself to relax"... or "Rob" for short managed to sneak in a biking trip with a friend. Please note that they have exactly the same bike right down to matching luggage... not that there is anything wrong with that
(K. The luggage does not actually match, not even close. The longer we have these the less they look alike. Soon the only similarity will be colour. Now it is understood as to why Devona occasionally shows up at work with two totally different shoes on, black but not at all a match - RW)

Parked in front of the Mossbank Museums blacksmith shop.

Taken near Rockglen.

Here you can see a view of the Badlands in the background...and once again...a beautiful picture of Rob's firstborn. Whoops, sorry, that was supposed to say his bike, my mistake

A shot that Robert took on a fire road near Prince Albert. He is totally hard core in case you were all wondering.
(Yes, that is sand under my wheels.)

Another beautiful shot of Rob's firstborn in front of Shell Lake, Sk. Is it just me or is that a fingerprint just underneath the V Strom logo???

ISO - 100, F 8, Shutter Speed - 1/80th, Exp Comp - (-0.7)
A fantastic sunset image that Rob shot when up North.

ISO - 100, F 13.0, Shutter Speed - 1/100th sec, Exp Comp - (-1.3)
Overlooking Memorial Lake, Sk.
I managed to squeeze in a bit of time one Sunday afternoon to take my sister and her little chicklettes out for some photos. Once again my theory has been proven that if you bring a large enough bag of bribe candy you can get the little ones to do pretty much anything! Note to all of you aspiring photographers out there... make sure to check with the parents first! Unless of course it is your sister then it becoms irrelevant

My daughter Brooke (in blue) had her second track meet of the year and faired very well. Here she is getting into the right "headspace" for her big race.

ISO - 250, Shutter Speed - 1/1600th, F 5.6, Focal Length - 200mm
Robert was lucky enough to be able to come out and shoot Brooke's 13th birthday party pictures. He still thanks me for getting him involved in this one

ISO - 200, F 3.5, Shutter Speed - 1/1000th, Focal Length- 135mm

ISO- 100, F 8.0, Shutter Speed - 1/80th sec, Exp Comp - +1.0
Lastly the Wascana Lake Bird Sanctuary called my name this past weekend which is actually very eerie as I had planned a walk around the lake having no idea we even had a sanctaury...go figure.

And with that we once again come to the end of this edition of our blog. With luck there will be a wide variety of pictures from Southern California and Arizona in the next few weeks as well as more pictures of Rob's firstborn motorbike.
Remember...practice and patience are the keys to success!! Get out there and have fun...
Devona & Rob
(That's it, no more motorcycle photos for you - Hopefully there will be
a new truck to photograph for the next blog and if need be I'll bring
out the SportsShooter Girls to show it off. We could make a deal here
actually, no more photos of motorcycles if you agree no more old
buildings or stark lonely trees. - RW)
