With the blog entry of course :) Hello again everyone and welcome to yet another edition of our blog. So I'm wondering if it's just me that thinks that the older that I get the faster that summer seems fly by??? I swear that it feels like yesterday that I was getting all packed up for my trip down south and then looking forward to coming home just in time for the long hot days of summer and here I am now sitting at my computer wondering if I have been in some sort of waking coma for the past couple of months because here we are already into September...ugh.
So in a nutshell one word can sum up the past few weeks...BUSY!!! Once again our photo workshops are in full swing and sold out into October. Rob has also been shooting a ton of soccer and I have done some family pictures as well as a shoot for Tourism Saskatchewan. What's on the agenda coming up...well, for me there are more workshops, field-trips, a shoot for the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and then heading out to Calgary at the beginning of October for the Western Digital Imaging Show and that is as far ahead as I am willing to look otherwise one gets that whole overwhelmed feeling. Oh right, and my weekly blog updates of course... or is it bi-monthly?? I know I know... I try to continue to promise that I will do them every week and I truly do aspire to do just that it's just that on occasion everything doesn't exactly fall according to plan and I'm not sure if you all remember but there was this one time that I in fact had 2 entries in a single week. I forgot to mention that I also have a full time job somewhere in there :)
And what you are all wondering is Rob up to?? Once again very busy as the U of R is back in full swing which means that he will be on the sidelines for everything from football to volleyball, track...you name it.
Enough yammering and onto some pics...
ISO-640, 1/1300th sec, F 5.7
ISO-800, 1/2000th sec, F 5.6, Focal Length-400mm
ISO- 800, 1/1000th, F 5.6, 400mm
The above images were shot by Rob when our Rams got trounced by the Huskies :(
I had a lot of fun going out and shooting some pictures of Andrea last weekend. In between the wind and torrential downpour that is but at least the clouds parted long enough to get the shoot in.
Rob also had a family shoot on the same day but his started about an hour before mine so he didn't have the rain to contend with:
Last night Rob and I headed out and did some light painting about an hour out of the city. We were lucky enough to be traveling with royalty...that's right folks we had non other than Gil Segovia and Dwayne Senft with us...otherwise known as Mr. President and Mr. Vice President of the
Regina Camera Club :) We left the city just after supper and got home around midnight and we had a really great time. The weather was a wee bit chilly but other than that absolutely perfect. The following are some of the pics that Rob shot:
ISO-100, Shutter Speed-2.6sec, F 5.7, Focal Length-20mm
Yep.... that's me hiding in the grass trying to shoot the elusive moon... felt really comfortable there until Rob started talking about all of the grasshoppers that were lurking
Here are some of my pictures from the same evening:
ISO-400, Shutter Speed-3.2 sec, F 22.0, Focal Length-35mm
A shot of the crew... wait a minute, where's Gil??
Found Him!!
Photogs in action. Okay, I know, they don't exactly appear to be really moving do they?
This could have been a perfectly good sunset photo with one exception

Kidding...really...
ISO-200, Shutter Speed - 161 seconds, F 7.1, Focal Length-18mm
This was obviously shot with the aid of some carefully placed colored lights inside the buildings by Dwayne. As we were standing in the field taking the pictures there were some really creepy noises that started inside the building. I would like to commend Dwayne for having the guts to go back in and get them out as had they been mine they would have been left there as an offering for whatever the Hell was living inside

Well that's it for this edition. Thanks for checking in and once again I will attempt to have the next blog done in about a week. If you find you are needing a new muse then get out there at night and grab a flashlight as the possibilities are endless.
Till next time,
Devona
