Hello again everyone! I know it appears that I have just crawled back out from the rock that I have been hiding under for a few weeks and I guess that is the truth. For the first time in an awfully long time I took a vacation where I rarely had my cell phone on and only checked my work email twice in 2 weeks...yippeee!!! What I did do though was head down to Carlsbad California and take a LOT of photos and that is why it is going to take me a while to finish going through them and get them up on the blog. What I have decided to do is to post about 3 or 4 from various stops along the way.
Just so you know I'm going to fill you all in on a plan that I had that I didn't follow through on. Every blog that we have done on here has been a team effort between Rob and I (even though you all know that I have done the majority of the work lol). I'm not sure if you have all heard of the "Flat Stanley" project that kids are given in school but for those of you who aren't familiar basically the kids trace out "Stanley" on a sheet of paper...color him...cut him out and take him all over the world with them whenever they travel. They take photos with Stanley in front of Mt. Rushmore... The Great Wall of China...you name it. My thought was that I would take a version of Stanley along and name him "Flat Rob"... my idea was to put him in a little barrel and send him over the falls on video and then post it on our blog! The problem lay in the fact that I couldn't quite figure out how I could do that without getting arrested by Green Peace or another similar foundation and there was no way that I could possibly try to rescue the garbage from my project when done so I guess that you will just all have to envision my brainstorm :)
Alright onto some photos...
Look... it's some ancient rock carvings! Okay...not exactly... but now I happen to know that Jen loves Chuck and that they are BFF's forever which made it much easier for me to sleep that night...yep.
Lone surfer walking along the beach.
I travelled over 2000km in search of the elusive "Gull of the Sea". Wow...that just made me sound really romantic or something lol. In reality I took consecutive shots of the same bloody seagulls that have crapped all over the beach in front of our cabin for the past few decades!
I had to throw this in here. This extremely friendly gentleman walked up and talked to me when I was standing by the ocean for at least 10 minutes. Funny thing about it was that he was speaking another language and I was having a Hell of a time trying to figure out what he was asking me... he finally shook his head rather violently as he pointed to the people that were swimming in the ocean and then said "crazy kids" ... I guess you had to be there but it was rather priceless :)
Waves breaking on the rocks which were absolutely covered in shells.
My walk back up from the ocean. The scenery was amazing.
Well... that's all for this entry. I will be posting 3 or 4 more over the next week or two and will keep you posted!
Have a great week!

Okay... the Devil made me do it. It is obviously more difficult than I ever imagined it would be to just post a blog without throwing at least one photo in here. This one is of Rob "mid spin" from tonight's
Future Stars soccer game :)
