Well another week has come and gone and it makes me realize that before you know it summer will be but a memory as we all bundle up again to go outside and plug in our cars! Okay, I just realized that statement really sucked as now I am thinking about winter...ugh. Anywho... I made my initial statement regarding time flying by to give all of you a kick in the pants so that you make sure to get out there and enjoy it as I have just done. Yep, two whole days off and I just walked in the door from the lake. Took a few photos, played a round of golf and even caught a few fish. Unfortunately I have no photos of either the golf game or the fish that I caught due to the fact that during my golf game my ball was hit so much longer than the other players you would require a 600mm lens to get me in a shot and while fishing I did not have my 10-20mm with me to get all of the massive Walleye in and the way that I see it there would have been no point in showing a picture of me with my award winning fish when you can only see half of it... yep... that's got to be it
Okay Devona...back to the reason why we are all here...photography and photography related news.
Rob and I taught our final photo workshop that we will be holding until the Fall this past Monday and everyone really enjoyed it. We are looking forward to revamping our presentation for the Fall with all of the new photos that we will be taking over the course of the summer.
Due to the sheer busyness of the next few months I am sad to inform all of you that there probably won't be many "making fun of Rob" photos from our weekly excursions as we will for the most part not be in the city at the same time due to Rob tearing up the province shooting everything from soccer for the SSA and football for Keystone among many other things and me enjoying my upcoming summer vacation and hopefully travelling through the mountains and Colorado taking pictures and working on my tan
I promise that I will still try to post the odd one though even if I have to shoot it while working the odd Thursday night :)
Alright... onward and upward and onto some photos:
Shot on Aperture Priority - 1/250th sec., F10, Focal Length - 55mm using a Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens with a Circular Polarizer.
A Foal that I shot along the way to the cabin. Shot near Lipton, Sask.

Above image shot on Aperture Priority, 1/250th sec, F7.1, Focal Length - 17mm using a Canon 17-55mm 2.8 lens with a Hoya ND4 filter.
I decided to take a break from my drive and pulled off onto a side road just after Lipton, Sask. There was an overgrown turnoff that I took and came across this spectacular abandoned yard.
Above image shot on aperture priority, 1/500th sec, F6.3, Focal Length 55mm using a Canon 17-55 2.8 lens with a Hoya ND4 filter.
Same abandoned yard.
I'm no longer going to state that I used Aperture Priority mode as I think that you are all getting the idea by now lol. Above image shot at 1/100th sec, F 16, Focal Length 28mm using Canon's (actually mine) 17-55mm 2.8 with a Hoya ND4 filter.
Once again shot in the same yard.
What blog would be complete without a photo of my father?? I shot this in the boat yesterday unbeknownst to him as anytime that I actually try to take a legitimate photo of him he gets this goofy looking fake smile on his face. It is a bit of an extreme close-up as I had my 70-200 lens on. I wonder if I should be getting a written consent from him for using his photo on here as I don't believe we were actually at a public event... oh well, I guess that I'll just have to take the chance that he won't be suing me
And...I'm going to once again risk the whole suing thing by throwing my Uncle up here. This shot was taken this morning on the lake with my little Optio point and shoot...what can I say...it's waterproof. Reason that I put this photo on here is to show that there are actually rather monstrous walleye in our lake. I go fishing with my uncle quite often and he is a man of very...very...very few words even though he does love to remind me whenever he gets a chance that the reason why he seems to catch more fish than I do is because I'm looking over the edge of the boat too often and scaring all of them away... yep...as you can see humour runs in my family...sure.
Okay...now I'm going to switch gears for a bit and post a few of the photos that I have finished from my trip down South.
Above image shot at 1/400th sec, F-10.0, Focal Length 14mm using a Canon 10-22mm lens.
Shot along the
Tioga Pass between Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite California.
Alrighty...that's it for now everyone. I will do my best to continue to post regular blogs but will be leaving for vacation so they may be a little bit sporadic.
Have a fantastic week!
