Hi Everyone!
Okay, so I am going to apologize right off the bat for not getting any entries earlier than this and once again I am going to try to stick to my guns and get a new entry posted every week:)
First and foremost I will talk about our photo workshops. For those of you who are not aware Rob and I are teaching photography workshops which will begin on the 31st of March. Enrollment is going very well...our Canon class is now full and there are only a few spots left in our Nikon class. We still have room in our Pentax/Olympus class as well as our Adobe Photoshop class so if you want to come down and learn as well as have a few laughs just give the staff at Don's Photo a call and they can sign you up. By all means though if you are interested or know of anyone interested in attending a workshop regardless if it is full or not leave your name and contact info with the staff as we will be running more workshops in the near future. We are also in the process of looking into some photo field trips and we will keep you posted as to what we come up with as soon as it happens.
To go along with our workshops we are now the proud new owners of a brand new LCD projector which weighed in at a whopping 6lbs 4ozs lol... We have found this to be an invaluable teaching tool as one can only talk so much before everyone gets that "glazed over I've now reached information overload" look on their faces...mind you, we tend to be extremely entertaining which I will add is the only reason that I would ever take shots at Rob :)
Other than that in new news we attended a Wedding Expo in Weyburn a few weeks ago where a good time was had by all although I know now that the next time I will be wearing my most comfortable pair of shoes as well as the fact that I will be bringing along some lozenges as my voice and feet were not exactly 100% by the end of the day (which just goes to show how much I must have talked as most of you who know me well know that I have this uncanny ability to talk ones ear off :> ).
Rob has also been asked to judge the SaskAm photo contest which is a very big honor. Rob is also going to be giving a presentation on sports photography at the Regina Photo Club on the 1st of April so anyone wanting to come out and learn a few things can just contact the Regina Photo Club.
Lastly we ventured out to my home town of Foam Lake last week to take some photos. Even though this may not be the most scenic time of year we had a great time and came back with some very nice images. I think that this was the first time that we have gone out shooting in the past 3 months where it wasn't -30 with the windchill as a matter of fact... I didn't even have to wear a jacket yipeee!!
Rob standing on the deck out at my Mom and Dad's cabin at Fishing Lake. For those of you who follow the news this is the same Lake that last year was devastated by a flood. The good news is that when I went home for Easter last year the snow off the deck was as high as my neck...this year they have considerably less so hopefully we may even have some beach again! For those of you interested in seeing what happened to the lake last year you can click on this link: Okay, apparently you can't just click on the link but you can go to the website...

Rob shooting in Foam Lake. I wonder if anyone told him that when snow if melting it makes the ground beneath it wet? Oh well, he soon found this out anyway :)

A photo that Rob took of a badger. We actually watched her for about half an hour and she never even showed her teeth once! From what I have learned about badgers since then this seems to be quite a big deal as they are vicious little things. You're probably wondering at this point why I am referring to "the badger" as a "she"... well, she happened to be about 3 feet wide which you cannot tell from this photo which means that there should be new badger babies any day now. I wanted to leave her some crackers as a baby gift but unfortunately I was too scared to venture far from the car due to the fact that I would come back with half of my leg ripped off regardless of the gift... I did however try to encourage Rob to get closer :>)

A shot that I took of Rob while shooting the train. I don't think that the engineer of the train was very impressed that we were standing a wee bit too close to the tracks as they approached!
Okay...what you all don't know but will now is that I had posted another pic that I took of Rob here which I suddenly thought better of and deleted. All that I had said about the photo was that I was going to be in BIG trouble...needless to say it is no longer here as I realized that payback would not be a good thing that I could look forward to lol... you can all laugh just in the knowing that it was really hilarious...and... I still have it :)

Some deer along the way home. Yes, this is cropped more than a wee bit as I had my 17-55 on my camera at the time lol...

This is the last photo that I took ... we were planning on taking more photos along the way back but due to the fact that I happened to run over a board full of nails in Ituna our trip was cut short. On the upside I am now the proud new owner of 4 new tires...lucky me!
Well, that's all for now. Please check back next week as we will be posting more then.

Okay... so apparently there is one more photo which should have been beside the one that I took of the deer above but I am not quite a blog master at this point which means that try as I may I can't move this pic and so I'm going to leave it here. This is one that Rob took of the same herd with his 70-200.
Cheers... Happy Easter everyone!
