A Walk In The Park

A Walk In The Park

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I know...look at me go... I said last week that I would be posting a new blog entry every week and here it is one week later!

Rob and I spent most of the day finalizing everything for our upcoming photography workshops which begin on Monday. Everything went really smoothly until I happened to mention that I want to get a laser pointer at which point Rob got this look of terror on his face as he was apparently already picturing himself with burned out retinas from one of my practical jokes gone wrong so at this point it looks like I will be laser pointless :(

After we finished up with everything for the workshop we headed out to the park to take some pics...

Not the best time of the year to shoot but if you look hard enough you can still manage to find some color :)

Rob shooting the bridge.

This is going to seem shocking to some of you but we even managed to run into some geese while there lol.  The one on the left would not shut up which led me to believe that he must be a male :)

In case you're wondering why this picture is in here... well, along with a ton of geese comes a ton of goose s*#t!  If you look closely in the background of the photo you can see where I attempted to clean off my hiking boots.. wonderful.

Me trying to be creative as I apparently I can only take so many pictures of geese and the Legislative building.

Rob trying to get a different angle on his shot... I'm going to take a wild guess that it was of a goose :)  I also happen to have a shot of him attempting to get up without the aid of a walking stick which I am not going to post as I would be in a bit of kaka :))))

Now... I know you are probably all wondering what the heck this picture is doing here.  Let me explain... after weeks of furiously scouring the internet Rob bought new tires and wheels for his car last week.  Apparently I am quite naive when it comes to the importance of these on one's car.  I mean, I obviously know that a car needs tires but to me that is the extent of it...they are round, when you give the car gas they turn thus getting you from point A to point B.  Apparently I was very very wrong in this case as I learned that having hot tires and wheels can actually make you a better person...don't laugh... it's true!  I also can now say that I have actually witnessed someone lick their finger and wipe it across a wheel of their car to make it more shiny which is a good thing as now I can cross that off of my "things to do and see before I die" list ...sorry Rob...in all seriousness you're tires (and wheels) are truly fantastic...really.

Well...that's it for now... more to come next week.

Cheers!
Devona

Rob didn't tell you that putting those new wheels on his car makes him a "chick magnet"? hmmmm, well, as long as it's not a "goose magnet" while he's in Wascana Park, he'll be fine I guess.

By the way, I think EVERY blog entry should have a photo of Rob lying down on the job....but I'd pay extra for the "Rob getting up with the aid of a walking stick" photo! ;->

What? I'm not paying you now? well.....er.....I'll STILL pay extra for that photo! lol

Apparently Rob has some issues with sleep apnoea because most shots appear as if he’s lying on the ground and has passed out!!! Nothing like a nice walk in the park and having to step in some fresh “mud”!!! I really like the shot of the railing and I especially like the one of the back of Rob’s head (appears he has the right gear for an express takeout at 7-11!!), but at least he hadn’t fallen on the ground to catch a nap. You two guys have way too much fun.. Later and keep them coming....

Walking Stick? Not very nice. There was at least one nasty shot at men in here so I am going to respond on our behalf gentlemen. Only a woman would crop out the rubber when photographing am man's new wheels. Secondly, no man would photograph another man's wheels when they weren't all shiny and clean. Trust me, a new pic of the Sportsshooter.ca partially pimped ride will be posted as soon as it gets it's spring lovin. By the way. They are CORE Racing Snypers with ZR rated Falken skins. The boys at Kal Tire north came to the table when I expressed my concern that I was going to have to buy them from the Tire Rack in the states... thanks Derek.

Badger. You are pretty brave or had a reeaallyy long lens. In my previous life only two animals ever attacked my car. One was a moose, the other was a badger. Nasty little beasties...

I do agree with your idea for the monopod as a walking stick...the problem lies more with Rob getting up off the ground than the actually act of walking and I fear that there probably isn't a monopod made that is quite strong enough for that lol...

Regarding the badger... we were actually standing out of the car and she was not very far from us at all... I think that is she wasn't about 3 feet wide she probably would have taken a run at us Smile

I admit, I have not been on this webpage in a long time... however it was another joy to see It is such an important topic and ignored by so many, even professionals. I thank you to help making people more aware of possible issues.
Great stuff as usual...
