Alright everyone (see...I'm assuming that there will be lots of people actually reading this)... you are going to have to bare with me here as this is my first attempt at posting something on our blog. That being said if there is something that I do wrong here or if things look out of place well... I guess you'll all just have to deal with it for now until I get my PHD in blogging :)
When Rob and I first planned out trip out to Buffalo Pound last Wednesday we were ecstatic as the super reliable weathermen...weatherwomen...okay weather people were finally forecasting a beautiful warm winter day. And to our surprise it was...for the first 5 to 10 minutes.
I have since decided that photography is not actually a challenge unless you try to shoot photos with wind gusts ranging from 40-70 km/hr while trekking up the sides of mountains while wearing snowshoes for the first time... yep. Okay, I know what you are thinking...there are no mountains in Saskatchewan and you may be right but they sure seemed mountainous that day :) Come to think of it Rob wouldn't actually know if they were hills or mountains as he stuck to the path more travelled by as you will see by some of the photos :)
Okay, what most or all of you do not know is that I have just spent the past 45 minutes trying to put pictures up on here in vain. I have no problem actually putting the pictures on here but my very witty comments that go along with them are somehow getting lost in cyberspace which is starting to become somewhat frustrating to me. I know... those of you who really know me are laughing hysterically right now because you know that I have pretty much zero patience and by saying that I am getting "somewhat frustrated" actually means that I am about a millisecond away from having to purchase a new Mac due to the fact that I have chucked this one through my plate glass window!
For now I have figured out a "work around" to my witty comments under the actual photographs as I am just going to post them here.
Photo 1: A shot that I took of Rob from one of my many "mountainous" views.
Photo 2: Amazing clouds (not very witty one there granted)
Photo 3: Rob figured that I should be the trail blazer ...hence making it easier for him so I figured that it would be rather funny to lead a 6'2" guy through some rather difficult back breaking terrain and then turn around and take photos and yes... it was hilarious!
Photo 4: View from the start of the path through the marsh...once again...not very witty.
Photo 5: One of our 2 snowmen (or women?) friends that were there to greet us at the end.
Photo 6: A shot that I took of the highway completely drifted over just after we left. One would think that this may have given us a slight indication of what the roads would be like on the way home but apparently not as we spent another hour or so before heading back just so that we could drive on average 50km /hr the entire way back on a highway of glare ice in the dark as we passed vehicle upon vehicle in the ditch flipped onto their roofs... rather stressful!
Well... that's it for this blog. Thanks for checking it out. I will try to post something new every week and along with that I will do my best to become a blogmaster by the next post :)
Cheers ...
p/s: Rob... quit shaking your head at me... this isn't as easy as you make it out to be as I am only an "aspiring" blogmaster at this point :)
